Inside Sales Representative

Spruce Finance is committed to helping people reduce their utility bills and improve their homes and environment by offering consumer financing solutions for residential energy efficiency improvements and solar systems. We make our finance products available on a single software platform and sell them through a national network of verified channel partners. Our platform simplifies the sales experience for our channel partners and helps them sustainably grow their businesses. We have raised more than $2B in financing and currently serve 70,000 homeowners.

Finance products for residential solar – including loans, leases, power purchase agreements, and property-assessed clean energy (PACE) financing – are available in 23 states, and financing for home efficiency improvements is available in all 50 states. Spruce’s national reach and full product suite enable the company to capture more share of business from its channel because clients can access multiple finance products for a wide variety of home improvements on a single platform. Spruce is also able to capture a greater share of wallet from consumers by offering them the financing they want for the energy efficiency home improvement they need, and creating a long-term relationship that enables additional sales of complementary improvements down the road.

THE ROLE: Inside Sales Representative

Spruce Finance’s sales model engages contractors, installers, and EPCs in residential markets to deliver its FinTech platform and residential energy efficiency, water efficiency and solar finance products to the US market.

Spruce seeks a motivated Inside Sales Representative to drive Spruce Finance revenue and market share growth in the SMB (small and medium business) market. You accomplish this goal through lead generation, lead conversion, new account activation (primarily contractors), onboarding, and enabling and educating all channel partners on the Spruce platform technology, finance products, and business propositions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Meet and exceed sales goals on a monthly basis
  • Meet daily quota of dials, talk time and appointments
  • Build sales pipeline with targeted accounts
  • Generate, work, and close lead referrals
  • Cold call target prospects to close new accounts and grow market share
  • Establish relationships with customers
  • Reactivate dormant accounts
  • Effectively communicate with customers via telephone
  • Record all activities in Salesforce
  • Understand and effectively represent the Spruce brand and culture
  • Drive excitement and brand awareness of Spruce products
  • Collect market intelligence and competitive information
  • Handle inbound customer calls and engage resources in solving concerns
  • Successfully complete initial Spruce training
  • Successfully complete ongoing training regarding Spruce products
  • Work as a part of a team to achieve sales team goals
  • Effectively deliver webinar presentations to potential customers to drive business
  • Share best practices with team members

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 1-3 years of inside/outside consultative sales experience with a demonstrated record of success
  • Ability to determine customers’ needs and achieve customer success by asking questions
  • Strong team orientation
  • Strong, persuasive verbal and written communication skills
  • Driven by and successful in a high energy, quota driven and evolving sales environment
  • Willingness to adhere to activity and reporting requirements
  • Ability to multi task, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities, responsibilities and business needs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, internet market research and web based presentations
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar sales management tools
  • Energetic and positive attitude
  • Strong business acumen

 

EDUCATION

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, such as sales or marketing is preferred.
